Actual comments from our patients

A&E

SRN Nurlisa Abdul Halim was very patient and kind when she did the swab test for me. She even said she would not mind if I vomited on her or pushed her away as I was very scared about the test. Thank you so much Ms Nurlisa!

I’d like to compliment SEN Magdalene from A&E Dept for the excellent service she provided me on Saturday, 15 Aug 2009 at 4am. Ms Magdalene helped me calm down and share with me on how to lower my baby’s high temperature. Her professionalism and ability to settle my anxiousness quickly has exceeded my expectations. Within a few minutes, she was able to reduce my baby’s temperature significantly. Such as commitment to great customer service is to be commended.

Day Surgery

Nursing staff at Day Surgery provided professional service even though it was 6.30am in the morning. Thank you SN Kua for nursing my mother.

All the staff who attended to my mum gave her very good and special attention, especially Suhana and Bee Lee. Surhanan, who can converse in Mandarin, was a very good and patient nurse. Ms Bee Lee who conversed in Mandarin, made my mum feel very at home.

Operating Theatre

Before coming to Mount Alvernia, I heard friends commenting on its compassionate and friendly staff. This time, I experienced it myself. From Nurse Agnes to staff in the Operating Theatre, I was kept accompanied throughout and given assurance and comfort which greatly reduced my anxiety before the procedure.

Extra blanket was given to keep me warm. Nurses took time to answer and explain my doubts. Dr Joy Lee made me very comfortable and explained the procedures clearly to me.

Delivery Suite

I would like to compliment all the nurses in the Delivery Suite. Everyone helped me through the process and pain, like a big family.

Sheila from the Delivery Suite deserves special mention as she spent a generous amount of time to explain the benefits of breastfeeding and subsequently came to assist me in my ward with latching. All other staff were ever so friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work!

Maternity Wards

You have a very soothing and nice environment. Nurses were very caring, attentive and personal. Thank you and keep up the great caring work!

I will definitely recommend Mount Alvernia for maternity to my relatives and friends as it is the best among the three hospitals I have stayed at.

Staff attentiveness and the cosy feeling from the doctors and nurses made my overall stay very memorable.

Parentcraft

A big thank you to Sister Kang for her tireless effort in assisting my wife. My wife could not latch our baby on. With Sister Kang’s care, patience, concern and professionalism, my wife is now filled with confidence feeding our baby with her precious colostrums and breastmilk. Each time we asked for her help, she would be very encouraging and willing to render her time to us, never losing patience despite our anxiety and questions. We can never thank her enough and we owe our baby’s growth and well being to her.

Paediatric Ward

The nurses are like angels. They are the ones that made the difference, the reason we chose this hospital. The nurses took care of my daughter as well as comforted me. They were gentle, patient and efficient in their professional work. This was consistent throughout our stay.

Compliment to the care given by the nurses, especially in the night dosages of nebuliser. The warmth and cheery tone used were what my girl needed. Thank you nurses!

Ms Regine was especially sensitive and creative in coming up with a solution when our baby’s IV drip at the leg kept leaking and tape kept coming loose. With the bandage, the IV drip stayed in place without the need to prick my baby as often.

Medical Surgical Wards

Although busy, all staff still put on a smile – very professional.

I find the nurses and housekeeping staff very patient and responsive.

CPC

The pastoral care, prayer, Holy Communion and dialect speaking minister are a comfort.

Your staff in all areas are fantastic! Being Roman Catholic, we were glad to receive daily Communion.

CCU

The staff from CCU are very compassionate, friendly, patient, helpful and responsive. They are very attentive to patient’s needs. Thank you. All staff should learn from them.

DID

“Staff from Diagnostic Imaging were attentive, professional and caring.”

Health Screening Centre

I came for a review on 30 July 2009 at 9am. I completed the review at 9.35am. Good and reasonable timing.

Staff facilitating the Health Screening were very patient and explained every procedure. Very comforting.

F&B

Meals provided are very good, tasty and nutritious.

Confinement food is excellent and tasted very good. Staff at the nursery ward and Delivery Suite were excellent and very caring,

Business Office

Compliment to Ms Lena at Business Office. She was empathetic, apologetic and polite. She tried to help and rendered assistance. Very pleasant demeanour.

Compliment to Business Office staff for their fast processing!

Staff who handled the admin transactions, dressed wounds and maintained the patient’s hygiene were well experienced. I am particularly happy that the hospital allowed me to stay together with my cousins in the same ward. I thank the hospital for their understanding and flexibility. It was a good stay here. I feel this is a homely hospital. It feels warm here.

Operations

Staff service was good, even the security guard welcomed us and showed us the way.
